The challenge

Before digitisation, providing guest service was an enormous task: 

• Around 200 families arrived each day, requiring a total of 800 access passes. These had to be printed, folded, and distributed by hand.
• Long queues of cars often formed in front of reception, at times stretching out into the street.
• The Access cards were not personalised, which led to misuse and loss of revenue - for example, by passing them on to other guests for the swimming pool or playground.

The first step was automatic entry through number plate recognition, controlled directly from the booking system. Guests can now drive straight to their accommodation without stopping. Long waiting times are a thing of the past.

📱 2. Facial recognition for the swimming pool

Instead of access cards, Camping de Paal now uses biometric facial recognition - simply and securely via a selfie in the camping app (WeMa Mobile). This allows guests direct access to the swimming pool without needing to show anything.
