5 tips: How to bring practice to your classroom with the BEX Academy

As you prepare the curriculum for next school year, the following question no doubt haunts your mind: "How do I really steamroll my students for the dynamic practice of the recreation industry?" Because that gap between theory and practice of lightning-fast developments and new technologies can be quite a challenge, right?

At Booking Experts, we recognize this challenge all too well and that is precisely why we developed BEX Academy! By sharing our deep understanding of the operational, strategic and technological needs of the industry, we strive to support educators in integrating realistic real-world experiences into their classrooms.

In this blog, we share 5 tips to effectively integrate BEX Academy into the curriculum, helping students gain valuable experiences and applicable skills during their studies.

Tip 1: Use our free online modules as a foundation for practical knowledge.

The BEX Academy is completely free of charge and offers several modules, such as Junior Rockstar and Mastermind. Use these online learning materials and our reservation software to provide students with the essential knowledge about daily work processes within recreation companies.

Tip 2: Integrate our software into practical lessons and exams.

Bring theory to life by having students work directly with our software in realistic scenarios. Consider practicing a front office call where they have to make or change a reservation in the system, or use our reservation system as part of a practical exam. This provides hands-on experience and immediately applicable skills in the recreation industry.

Tip  3: Seek collaboration with recreation companies.

Practice only becomes truly tangible through collaborations. Consider a partnership with a local recreation company or be inspired by successful examples such as the collaboration between Deltion College, Topparken and Booking Experts. This allows students to see how the system works in day-to-day operations.

Tip 4: Make use of our experts for guest lectures or introductions.

Our colleagues at Booking Experts are happy to share their knowledge and experience. Invite us for a guest lesson to give students a unique insight into the industry and the world of reservation systems. We are also happy to come by for an introductory lesson at the BEX Academy startup, where we will talk a little about our work and the future of the recreation industry.

Tip 5: Celebrate successes with an official certificate.

A celebratory certificate ceremony, which we are also happy to attend, is the perfect time to revisit the impact of the BEX Academy with your students. This certificate serves as a tangible addition to their CV, demonstrating that they have relevant, directly applicable knowledge and skills. With this certificate, they stand out when applying for future internships or their first job in the recreation industry, giving the education a measurable connection to their career prospects.
